Rebel Reprints expands love of ink with Roland DG TrueVIS VG.

Rebel Reprints

Print shop Rebel Reprints has a customer base dedicated to ink: it is located next to its owner's tattoo studio.

Tattooist and artist Scott Lukacs set up Rebel Reprints in 2010 to serve the needs of the art community in Orlando, Florida, USA. It specializes in printing limited artist prints, high-quality vinyl decals and banners, plus custom sticker and art designs that can be ordered directly from its website.

Its customers include tattoo artists, young artists and comic book conventions. "Instead of going to a giant company to get their banners and decals, they can have their work printed by a fellow artist," explains Scott.

Color and quality is key, so Rebel Reprints relies on a Roland DG TrueVIS VG Series printer/cutter. "Roland DG's output is unmatched – our TrueVIS prints rich, saturated colors," says the owner. "It's the closest thing to an art printer.

"We can match any color, and we don't have to worry about compatibility problems. Most of the time we're printing complex designs on a 5" x 5" sticker, or smaller. People are looking at our work up close."

With TrueVIS, there are no compromises when it comes to cutting. With a typical decal order size of 500 to 1,000, the Roland DG's integrated contour cutting capability has been an important asset for the shop.

Scott adds: "With the talents of our artists and the capabilities of our Roland DG, we see a bright future for our print production business."
